Review: L.A. Colors 10 Color Eyeshadow Palette in Brights

Hello Shopahaulics, Tiffany here, and this palette is an affordable and pretty pigmented palette. Of course, this palette is only $1.00, but at least you can see the colors on your eyes. I like to wear this palette when I am feeling fun and fresh. I really like to use the pinks because they are relatively pigmented and blend in well together. The purple is pretty nice on the outer corner. I don’t wear blue much but those are pigmented and doing a smokey eye with the neutrals is nice. I have to say that this is not normally what I would gravitate towards but this is good if you are starting to get into color and just want a pop to a smokey eye. I suggest this for those of you who are starting out and want to try something other than the norm smokey eye.

Positive: Pigmented and good for your money

Negative: Nothing.

Review: L.A. Colors 6 Color Eyeshadow Palette in Precious BEP411

Hello Shopaholics, Tiffany here, and if you are looking for a good eyeshadow palette for everyday that you can use, I suggest this one. I used this pretty much every day in the fall/winter months, and it has absolutely been my go-to palette. These are amazing qualities and I think that they could be comaparable to high end shadows. Chalkiness is little to none and the fall out is a little bit but I would recommend putting a translucent shadow or tape to prevent it from sticking. I love this palette and am on the look out for more of these palettes to see if they are as good as this one. I highly recommend this line of L.A. Colors.

To break down the shadows, the white shadow in the top left corner is great for a highlight color. The top middle shade is a brown for the lid but if you think that is too dark, I have mixed the highlight and brown together to make a lighter shade. The top right hand corner is a darker brown-plum which I didn’t notice until I really looked at it. The dark brown-plum is a pretty outer corner or crease color. The bottom left hand is a yellow that I use for a more colorful look. I use that to brighten my eyes sometimes. The orange is a really pretty outer v color and a great brightener to mix the brown together. The plummy shadw is really pretty on the last half of the lid.

Positive: Really great and worth $1.00!!!

Negative: Nothing.

Review: L.A.Colors Mineral Eyeshadow Duo in Butterfly

Hello Shopahaulics, Tiffany here, and I must say that this eyeshadow duo disappointed me greatly. I thought that this was going to be a really great duo for me, but it shot me down. I personally can’t see the pigment on my eyelids when I blend it into my lid. It looks like my skin color with the eyeshadow on…disappointing. However, I think that this might be better for darker skin since the colors would show up but since I am not that dark and the pigment is not as intense as Graphite (below you can see the swatches of those two). I personally wouldn’t buy this again, I don’t recommend it either. I do think Graphite is a better buy and it does show up more.

Both eyeshadow duos will have fall out so have translucent powder underneath or use tape when you are done to pick it up. Butterfly is a pretty duo to see but not to use money for. I am sorry if this is a really negative review but I hope that this helps you.

Positive: Pretty.

Negative: Doesn’t show up on skin.

WTB: Dollar Tree.

Review: L.A. Colors 12 Palette in Supernatural

Hello Shopaholics, Tiffany here and this palette is good if you only wear blue eyeshadow, but I really don’t think this is worth the buy if you aren’t in love with blue or have predominately blue clothing. I bought this as my second palette which is good and bad. I am not happy with the color pay off of these shadows so that is why I don’t think this is a good buy even for $1.00. I like that this palette does only have a dark smoky gray and not a full black which is good for a subtle smoky eye. If you apply with a heavy hand then you can get more out of the palette. I just think that many of the colors coincide or aren’t even that much more different from the others. The only color that I think is acceptable is the white which is a good highlight color.

Positive: White is good.

Negative: the other colors are not as pigmented.

WTB: Dollar Tree, Dollar General.

Is there a palette that you think was not worth your buy.

Review: L.A. Colors Nails in Amethyst

I like purple and bought this because it is my birthstone, too cute, right? I liked that there happened to be shimmer in the bottle, little did I know it was somewhat glittery and I really didn’t like taking it off. However, I love the color on my nails and it is super cute. Once you put on a top coat it is totally fine, but before that it has a small rough feel. I don’t expect much from L.A. Colors polish wise because they are cheap and have a bit of lack in wear and tear. I do, however, keep my nails in check. I think that this is cute if you are going to use it for a night out or a special event, I wouldn’t normally wear it week to week but maybe I will feel purple during the winter months, who knows.

Positive: I really like the color.

Negative: I didn’t like taking it off.

Review: L.A. Colors Mineral Eyeshadow in Graphite

This is a duo at an angle and it is messy! Both colors are neutral and don’t seem to be amazingly awesome. I bought them because I wanted to do a smoky look for myself but that didn’t seem to work because there is so much fall out. I put the eyeshadow in my makeup bag and when I bring it back out it is all dusty from the eyeshadow that has become loose. This is a duo that I can live without because the gray to me is not as strong as the white which I find odd since gray is much darker. I do like how pigmented they are however which I guess is a plus.

The bottom two are from Graphite, the top two are from Butterfly. As you can see, the white is more pigmented than the gray which is good I suppose. I like how it is a defined gray and not too dark where someone would thing it was black. A really good back to school duo that won’t be too harsh on the eyes.

Positive: I love the white.

Negative: messy in container.
