e.l.f. Mineral Eyeshadow Primer

Hello ShopaHAULics, Tiffany here and this primer is possibly the only eyelid primer you will need. Not only is this affordable but it works on most skin types.

Packaging: Easy to slid into your travel bag when you are in a rush to get on a plane. The doe foot applicator is really great to apply it onto the lids and the applicator slides back in easily.

Durability: This is really a great product to have with you even if you aren’t applying any eyeshadow. I like to apply this when I am going to do a graphic or intense eyeliner look. If you are sweating or have extremely oily lids this may not be the best but it does do its job for the every day makeup wearer.

Pigmentation: Nude but blends in to the skin easily.

Budget: $1! The most affordable makeup primer ever!

Ready for a Wedding!

Hello ShopaHAULics, Tiffany here and recently I attended a wedding and a two day process overtook my life because I wanted to look the best that I could for the event. So, why not review all of the products I used? Some I have tested longer while others are still new to me so in the coming weeks you may see a jump here and there. Please note that some of the items are more high end than others but I have purchased them if they were on sale or when I wanted to treat myself. I still love shopping on a budget but I do know when some items are clearly much better than others after trial and error. Also, some of these items have already been reviewed so you can go ahead and get some reading done! Now, let’s get ready for a wedding!

Review: Prestige Cosmetics Liquid Eyeliner in Envy

Hello Shopahaulics, Tiffany here, and I will say that this eyeliner is pretty great. I love the consistency when it is applied and the pigmentation is great. Out of the eyeliners, this is the only one that I own, so I cannot vouch for the other colors. I wanted a green liquid eyeliner, because I like to have colored eyeliner. I bought this with a $3.00 off coupon from Rite Aid which was absolutely amazing so it ended up being about $1.00. The color of this eyeliner is a beautiful bright green that has shimmer in it. I like the way that it looks and brings dimension since when the light hits the liner, it has a sheen. I don’t like that it doesn’t show up on a darker look, but on a lighter eye look, it looks great. So, if you are a person who wears a lot of dark shadows, smokey eyes, etc. this product may not be the best. However, that is only this eyeliner rather than any other since I have not tried it. Other than that, it works amazingly well and doesn’t smudge or wear for the many hours that I have worn it.

Positive: Works great.

Negative: Doesn’t show up on a dark shadowed look.

All You Need: Eyeshadow

Hello Shopaholics, Tiffany here, and this is going to be a bit of a different kind of post since I am not reviewing something like I normally do. I am here to give advice to future makeup addicts, which might sound weird, since I just got into makeup about two years ago and have more makeup than I know what to do with. Not that I don’t love using makeup, but to save money and to make sure that all products stay in one place, here are suggestions for those of you who want to get pretty much everything but don’t want to spend the money. This is going to be a segment for a little while, I am probably going to separate the posts by makeup items for you.

Coastal Scents 88 Piece Color Makeup Palette

Makeup Product: Coastal Scents Makeup 88 Palette; $15

Looking for color? If you have been looking at the makeup industry and on youtube, this palette should look fairly familiar. This is the Coastal Scents 88 Palette and it is an absolute staple. I, unfortunately, do not own this but once I clean out my makeup I will probably buy this. Pretty much any and all colors that you could want are in here.

Coastal Scents 88 Piece Color Palette

Makeup Product: Coastal Scents Makeup 88 Palette; $21

Now, if you are a neutral makeup wearer, no problem, you can choose this palette. I find that many women wear more neutrals as does my sister because she loves smokey colors. I think that neutrals are great for any occasion and you can intensify any color by adding black.

UPDATE (4-9-12):

I figured that there were more alternatives for those of you who like to shop in the actual stores. These next two palettes are from target, at least that is where I know where they are. You are also welcome to buy them online.

144-Piece Ultimate Eyeshadow Palette

This is a multi-colored palette and you can tell that it is much like the Coastal Scents palette but it has 144 shades instead of 88 like Coast Scents. This is $15 as of right now.

A lovely palette that is $10.00 and is totally worth the money in quantity, I have not had the chance to get this product and try it so if you would like to buy it, definitely check out how well it works. I really like that there are lighter shades of pigmented colors that you can add as pops of color.

What about other palettes you may ask? I have found that these two palettes are the most affordable and is worth your money. Other products can be overpriced as I find MAC, Estee Lauder, Urban Decay, etc. I am a bargain hunter and review affordable products so these two would be my choice. However, splurging every now and then on one or two products is good because you never want to deprive yourself of a little something :]

Review: L.A. Colors 6 Color Eyeshadow Palette in Precious BEP411

Hello Shopaholics, Tiffany here, and if you are looking for a good eyeshadow palette for everyday that you can use, I suggest this one. I used this pretty much every day in the fall/winter months, and it has absolutely been my go-to palette. These are amazing qualities and I think that they could be comaparable to high end shadows. Chalkiness is little to none and the fall out is a little bit but I would recommend putting a translucent shadow or tape to prevent it from sticking. I love this palette and am on the look out for more of these palettes to see if they are as good as this one. I highly recommend this line of L.A. Colors.

To break down the shadows, the white shadow in the top left corner is great for a highlight color. The top middle shade is a brown for the lid but if you think that is too dark, I have mixed the highlight and brown together to make a lighter shade. The top right hand corner is a darker brown-plum which I didn’t notice until I really looked at it. The dark brown-plum is a pretty outer corner or crease color. The bottom left hand is a yellow that I use for a more colorful look. I use that to brighten my eyes sometimes. The orange is a really pretty outer v color and a great brightener to mix the brown together. The plummy shadw is really pretty on the last half of the lid.

Positive: Really great and worth $1.00!!!

Negative: Nothing.

WTB: Dollar Tree, Dollar General

Review: Maybelline Eyeshadow in Green St.

Hello Shopaholics, Tiffany here, and I want to say that the packaging for this is pretty good. This is my first Maybelline eyeshadow and I absolutely love that this packaging is compact and stays put when you need it to.

The color swatch may be hard to see but I love the high pigmentation. You can see the swatch mark in the eyeshadow! Anyway, this is a really easy color to blend. I found that this color, however, isn’t as pigmented alone than with a primer. Having a primer made me see this color in a whole new light.

I like this picture above because there is a slight blue undertone and not all green. This is a really pretty color and I absolutely recommend it! The fact $1.00 at Dollar Tree is a steal and I absolutely recommend getting makeup at Dollar Tree because many people overlook it.

Positive: Absolutely beautiful.

Negative: It can die down in pigmentation after a while on the face.

WTB: Dollar Tree.

Review: Maybelline Shadow Stick in Romantic Pink

Hello Shopahaulics, Tiffany here with a mixed review. I personally like how this shadow stick shows up on the lid but it is kind of chalky. Maybe it is because it gets old really fast, I am unsure. I really like how pigmented this product is and you get a good amount in it even though you may not think that. There is a bead inside the black part I think so that you can hear how much you shake. I don’t think that this blends well with other colors unless it is packed on. This product works best if you just pack it on or pat it on the lid. Personally I would buy this again because of the pigmentation but I think that this is more of a preference in the kind of eyeshadow you like. The applicator makes it easy for you to swipe on if you are just trying to get out of the house.

Positive: Pigmented.

Negative: Chalky.

WTB: Dollar Tree.

Review: L.A.Colors Mineral Eyeshadow Duo in Butterfly

Hello Shopahaulics, Tiffany here, and I must say that this eyeshadow duo disappointed me greatly. I thought that this was going to be a really great duo for me, but it shot me down. I personally can’t see the pigment on my eyelids when I blend it into my lid. It looks like my skin color with the eyeshadow on…disappointing. However, I think that this might be better for darker skin since the colors would show up but since I am not that dark and the pigment is not as intense as Graphite (below you can see the swatches of those two). I personally wouldn’t buy this again, I don’t recommend it either. I do think Graphite is a better buy and it does show up more.

Both eyeshadow duos will have fall out so have translucent powder underneath or use tape when you are done to pick it up. Butterfly is a pretty duo to see but not to use money for. I am sorry if this is a really negative review but I hope that this helps you.

Positive: Pretty.

Negative: Doesn’t show up on skin.

WTB: Dollar Tree.

Review: Max Factor eyeshadow in Leading Lady Pink

Hello Shopaholics, Tiffany here. This eyeshadow is a really light pink that is good for a base for heavier pigmented pinks or colors. This can also be used as a highlight if applied lightly because you can tell it is pink. If you have hooded eyes like me this is perfect because it really brightens and opens the eyes. Even though it is a light pink it is pigmented to where you can tell it is not white, at least I can’t but then again I am applying it and know what color it is haha. Anyway, if you find this eyeshadow you should get this. Next post is another eyeshadow by Max Factor that I recommend to everyone.

Positive: Opens eyes.

Negative: None.

WTB: Anywhere you can find it?

I apologize for the lame quiality of the picture ><!
