Ready for a Wedding!

Hello ShopaHAULics, Tiffany here and recently I attended a wedding and a two day process overtook my life because I wanted to look the best that I could for the event. So, why not review all of the products I used? Some I have tested longer while others are still new to me so in the coming weeks you may see a jump here and there. Please note that some of the items are more high end than others but I have purchased them if they were on sale or when I wanted to treat myself. I still love shopping on a budget but I do know when some items are clearly much better than others after trial and error. Also, some of these items have already been reviewed so you can go ahead and get some reading done! Now, let’s get ready for a wedding!

Review: Maybelline Lots of Lashes Mascara

Hello ShopaHAULics, Tiffany here, I have officially found my favorite mascara. I have used this mascara for about a year now and it is my golden child in my makeup. I don’t need to layer on two different mascaras or anything, honest to goodness, I recommend this!!!

Packaging: Love it! I love the combination of green and pink that Maybelline has on most of their bottles. I also love the heart at the bottom with “LOTS OF LASHES” staring right at you. Who doesn’t love hearts?

Durability: This product lasts me all day and doesn’t make my lashes fall. I haven’t seen a waterproof formula if your lashes tend to run or fall but I will keep a look out and update you all!

Pigmentation: Yup, they are black. I have black lashes already but this mascara just defines my lashes better.

Budget: This mascara runs around $5-6 depending on where you go so I think that it is a pretty good deal and you get your moneys worth because it lasts and doesn’t clump unless there is excess mascara on the wand which you can easily rid yourself of with a tissue.

Graduation Essentials

Hello ShopaHAULics, Tiffany here, and I have some essentials to share with you that I think you may enjoy. I recently went to my brothers graduation and literally moved back from my dorm the night before the graduation. Waking up early-ish and prepping for the day I knew I didn’t want to have a heavy load of makeup or anything that would be hard to maintain in case we had to go outside to take pictures. So…here is the list of the items I used:

-Urban Decay De-Slick Setting Spray

-Love My Face Pressed Powder

-Maybelline Lots of Lashes Mascara in black

-Benefit They’re Real Mascara

-Benefit Blush in Coralista

-Cailyn Gel Liner in black

Full reviews will be coming your way starting this week!!

Shopping Monologue: Holiday Makeup

Hello Shopahaulics, Tiffany here, and I wanted to tell you all about the products that I used the most during my holiday break. I left out one on accident but it is my CoverGirl Pro-lining eyeliner, it is discontinued as far as I know.

List of Products:

1 CoverGirl Nature Luxe Foundation in 310 Flax

2 Cailyn Gel Eyeliner in Black

3 Maybelline Great Lash Lots of Lashes in Very Black

4 NB Mineral Blush in Pink

5 Loreal True Match Super-Blendable Blush in Innocent Flush

6 Love and Beauty Blush and Highlighter in 02 Peach

7 L.A. Colors 6 Color Eyeshadow Palette in Precious

Because I used these products the most, I will be doing a review of them in my new format. I know that I have done some of the products listed already but I feel as though this will help as those are months to a year or two older. You are welcome to refer back to my older posts about the products if they are on this blog, just so you can see what time has brought up that I never noticed before.

Review: Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Blush in Soft Plum 40

I bought this blush on a whim…also because it is part of the dream collection by Maybelline dream matte mousse, which I love but is too light for my skin tone since I bought it in the wrong color! Um, but this is a really great product! I love the consistency of the product, especially when you take it on your fingers, it blends so well too!

I love the packaging (not the plastic that it comes in) the glass is really nice and not thin. I like that you can see the product inside and it looks like there isn’t a lot but it takes a while before you run through all the blush. I find that using a light hand works best because it can look like your face is really flushed when you don’t mean for it to. I generally blend more if it becomes too pigmented on my cheeks.

The swatch above is just a run through and it looks really nice and you can see that it is an easily blendable blush. There is flecks of shimmer/glitter in the blush but when applied it doesn’t show. If you have acne (like me) you might not like this so much because it is not a blush that will cover it up along with your foundation. However, it works really well so I don’t mind it so much.

Positive: Amazing color and easy to build.

Negative: Won’t help cover up blemishes/acne and can show “imperfections”.

Review: Maybelline ColorSensational Lipstick in Nude Glow 845

Hello Shopaholics, Tiffany here, and I would like to point out that if you get a $2.00 coupon off of a lipstick, do it! I bought this lovely color from the Maybelline ColorSensational line. There were only three to four choices when I went to my local Wal-Mart, so I am guessing that others were thinking the same ;). I wanted a nude lipstick because I didn’t have one and the others were very pink. I am glad that I got this color, it is very neutral but has shimmer and sheen. I love the consistency, it is smooth and not chalky or thick. A relatively great lipstick. Now, I must say that this is not the best for my lips, not that it chaps them, but the fact that my lips are naturally already a berry/pink color and this nude doesn’t show up well. I am sure that if you have paler lips, this will look great or if you prep your lips before hand, it will show. This lipstick is not the most pigmented of lipsticks I have seen.

Positive: Great consistency.

Negative: Not opaque enough.

Review: Maybelline Great Lash Lots of Lashes in Very Black 191

Hello Shopaholics, Tiffany here, and mascara is an absolutely amazing friend to have! I think that if you are looking for a bit of cheaper mascara than the Loreal Paris Telescopic Mascara is the Lots of Lashes which came out in fall of 2011. I saw the commercial and instantly fell in love with it. I love any mascara that can cause my lashes to look full. This mascara is different from Loreal’s because it also adds a little volume to the lashes which I find that the Telescopic only adds definition and length. The brush of the mascara is arrow shaped all around and works to get all the lashes and fit to the shape of your eye.

Positive: Works great and is affordable.

Negative: Nothing.

ShopaHAULic 24!!

From Wal-Mart for $3.99? I am not sure because I had a coupon but I really have wanted a nude lipstick. The colors that they had were only 4 and I had similar ones to the other three but this one. Color: Nude Glow

From Old Time Pottery for $1.99 because I needed a concealer brush ;]

Vera Bradley Website $4.90? It was 60% off!

Vera Bradley Website for only $18.90 I am pretty sure.

From Bed Bath and Beyond $12.99 DOLPHIN!!!

Don’t remember the price but I knew when I saw this commercials that I had to have it and I don’t normally buy mascaras off the bat!

From Old Time Pottery for $2.99 in Soft Plum

Review: Maybelline Eyeshadow in Green St.

Hello Shopaholics, Tiffany here, and I want to say that the packaging for this is pretty good. This is my first Maybelline eyeshadow and I absolutely love that this packaging is compact and stays put when you need it to.

The color swatch may be hard to see but I love the high pigmentation. You can see the swatch mark in the eyeshadow! Anyway, this is a really easy color to blend. I found that this color, however, isn’t as pigmented alone than with a primer. Having a primer made me see this color in a whole new light.

I like this picture above because there is a slight blue undertone and not all green. This is a really pretty color and I absolutely recommend it! The fact $1.00 at Dollar Tree is a steal and I absolutely recommend getting makeup at Dollar Tree because many people overlook it.

Positive: Absolutely beautiful.

Negative: It can die down in pigmentation after a while on the face.

WTB: Dollar Tree.

Review: Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation in Light 3

Hello Shopaholics, Tiffany here, and this foundation is one of the holy grails anyone with oily skin should need and want! I promise that if you have trouble with looking shiny because of the oils in your face are causing you to look as such, look no more! I bought this for $2/3.99 at Old Time Pottery and it is absolutely amazing. I love that my face was matte and it didn’t look like I was a mannequin either. I think that I am probably a shade darker but if you just blend really well it should be fine. To apply this I would get a flat topped brush because a foundation brush will hold too much product in it with the flatness and the bits you will get from the foundation.

I will say that this foundation may bring out dryness if you have any, like from acne, and it doesn’t cover up acne so you will want to have a concealer on hand. If you don’t overapply, this foundation feels light and doesn’t feel like a cake on your face.

Positive: Really great foundation.

Negative: Can make you look dry.

WTB: Wal-Mart, Walgreens, CVS, Rite-Aid, Old Time Pottery, etc.
